VMXWA 15th Anniversary Scramble August 2010

The camp sites were full and pit lane a squeeze with as many pre75 outfits (11) and solos as the Dandaloo Park grounds could fit in. Everyone has many a yarn to tell including those that came to visit for memories sake or be part of this pre75 racing event. Ours is one of many of those as written here.

ASA State Title Round 3

Morgan MCC hosted Round 3 at their motocross complex on the outskirts of the town of Morgan on the River Murray. Morgan used to be a thriving riverport in the days of the paddle steamers but now is mainly a popular holiday and weekend destination for waterskiers and fishing. The motocross track is situated on the site of the former Morgan Mile Longtrack which saw many spectacular races in its heyday in the 70's and 80's.

ASA State Title Round 1

Naracoorte Motorcycle Club hosted Round 1 of the SA Title at their motocross complex just outside the township. A beautifully prepared track adjacent to the number one course greeted a healthy sidecar entry with solo support races. Both tracks use a common set of start gates and after the start straight a hard right took competitors onto the new course, when using the original a sweeping left hander will have to be negotiated. The track had a bit of everything, from a technical whoop-de-doo section to hairpin corners and nicely shaped table top jumps but seemed to flow nicely once the sidecar boys (and girls) had circulated a few times. A real blast was the 'back' straight which was nice drivy ground and long enough to really pin your ears back and get a fair wriggle on. A real 'pat on the back' must go to Brett Dobie and his Naracoorte MCC members for the improvements at their complex with the new track as well as the lap scorer's facility, verandah on the canteen/shed and tree planting for future shade and shelter.
